About the Artist
A Voice for
Chamber Music
An accomplished chamber musician performing throughout the United States and Mexico, Chérie L. Hughes brings warmth and artistry to classical repertoire spanning four centuries.
As a founding member of The Pacific Duo with guitarist Roberto Limón, she performed at the prestigious Bellas Artes Manuel Ponce Chamber Hall in Mexico City and toured extensively through Mexico. The duo championed new works by Mexican and Latin American composers alongside the standard repertoire.
Dr. Hughes holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Oregon and served as Head of Performance Voice and European Musicology at Seattle Pacific University for fourteen years. She now lives in Eugene, Oregon.
